Are their heads shoved so far up their agenda that they are willing to make enemies of their own side?
Yes!
Just remember what the bible says: a house divided cannot stand.
We has Christians, and even those not Christian, but care about our children's safety and their future need to continue to rise up when issues like these are pushed upon us and let the powers that be know that we DO NOT APPROVE of the "transformation" of our country in these ways.
While I don't believe there is any middle ground to this issue, I do like the questions brought up in the video.
Pat McCrory, to the boycott of Target and the
consistent teachings of the Catholic Church and her Bishops, America is starting to wake up and fight this tyranny of our country's dangerous and immoral lawmaking.

Who would have ever thought this was a good idea?
Only someone with an evil mind could come up with the diabolical idea to put kids in such a dangerous situation.

The USCCB puts it better than I can;

USCCB Chairmen
Respond to Administration's New Guidance Letter on Title IX Application
WASHINGTON—Two Committee chairmen of the U.S. Conference of
Catholic Bishops (USCCB) issued the following statement in response to guidance
issued May 13 by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of
Education entitled "Dear Colleague Letter on Transgender Students":
The Catholic Church consistently affirms
the inherent dignity of each and every human person and advocates for the
well being of all people, particularly the most vulnerable. Especially at a
young age and in schools, it is important that our children understand the
depth of God's love for them and their intrinsic worth and beauty. Children
should always be and feel safe and secure and know they are loved.
The guidance issued May 13 by the
U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Department of Education that treats "a
student's gender identity as the student's sex" is deeply disturbing. The
guidance fails to address a number of important concerns and contradicts a
basic understanding of human formation so well expressed by Pope Francis: that
"the young need to be helped to accept their own body as it was created" (Amoris
Laetitia [AL], no. 285).
Children, youth, and parents in
these difficult situations deserve compassion, sensitivity, and respect. All of
these can be expressed without infringing on legitimate concerns about privacy
and security on the part of the other young students and parents. The federal
regulatory guidance issued on May 13 does not even attempt to achieve this
balance. It
unfortunately does not respect the ongoing political discussion at the state
and local levels and in Congress, or the broader cultural discussion, about how
best to address these sensitive issues. Rather, the guidance short-circuits
those discussions entirely.
As Pope Francis has recently
indicated, "'biological sex and the socio-cultural role of sex (gender) can be
distinguished but not separated'"
(AL, no. 56, emphasis added). We pray that the government make room for more
just and compassionate approaches and policies in this sensitive area, in order
to serve the good of all students and parents, as well as the common good. We
will be studying the guidance further to understand the full extent of its
implications.
The statement was issued by Bishop Richard Malone of Buffalo,
chairman of the USCCB Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth; and Archbishop
George Lucas, chairman of the USCCB Committee on Catholic Education.
my wife wants to take a vacation a few weeks before the baby is due.
OK, maybe I'm over exaggerating....but only slightly.
We all wanted a vacation and it "just so happened" again that we were about 5 weeks
away from our new arrival.

Being that it is still the Easter season, I can't really say "belated" Easter, but since I am just now getting this posted, it is late for Easter day.

I have forgotten how good sweet tea tasted and desert after dinner....I never realized I could make time to pray down at the abortion mill or go to stations of the cross every Friday.

Our Lenten sacrifices, no matter how little or how stringent they may be, shows our love for Jesus and our appreciation for His love and sacrifices for us.

Easter day: a day of rejoicing for our risen Lord Jesus.
It also became a day for over indulgence.

One of the holiest days of the year, becomes one of the most indulgent days of the year.
We let our children (and ourselves) eat candy before breakfast....that devious Easter bunny!!!
We eat more junk food before dinner than a small horse could handle. Then we stuff ourselves like
the Thanksgiving turkey in the company of our families.

Is this what the Apostles did when they realized that Jesus DID rise from the dead?

They probably didn't feast on chocolate bunny rabbits or drink all the wine available in Jerusalem.

They prayed, they stayed focused on the mission at hand. Spreading the good news of our risen Lord.

Can we stay the course? Finish the race? Over come the "thorns in the flesh"?

Pray for temperance, fortitude and a Lenten attitude.....Jesus has indeed risen.StJosephwannabehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01147513865247199167noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758831117878886856.post-29954466901703626832014-12-25T21:37:00.000-08:002014-12-25T21:37:34.257-08:00Merry ChristmasThank God for Jesus!

This was the sermon opening for our Christmas Mass this year.
Of course, for those who do not have much knowledge about Christianity, this can be confusing.
Aren't we thanking God for God?
Well, yes, I guess.

We always have to thank God for the gift of faith in Him, so it would be true in that aspect.
But, in a deeper theological aspect, we know that God the Father sent God the son (Jesus) into this world in reparation for our sins and for our eternal salvation. To know Him, to love Him and to serve Him.
So, Jesus is God, manifested in human form. so we could really know Gods love for us and what is truely expected of us. Without Jesus, we would only have known the "old testament God" and been left with a long distantace relationship with Him. But, God wanted us to know Him personally and realize that He is with each of us personally.
The best way to do that, as they say in Missouri, is to "show us". Let us see Him truely.
I pray that everyone in the world will come to have that relationship with Christ our Lord.

Have a blessed Christmas!StJosephwannabehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01147513865247199167noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758831117878886856.post-58937852794078450282014-10-31T08:56:00.001-07:002014-11-02T19:16:53.100-08:00I'm only against it as long as I'm not doing itAnother example of the contradiction our society has become.
I went to visit the image in a local parish close by and learned many things about this wonderful gift to our Church. I knew very little about the history of Our Lady of Czestochowa, but one of the more interesting tidbits I found is that Catholic tradition places St Luke as the artist who painted the image.

While I have seen images online of the cross in the sky below, thinking maybe they were photoshopped, this was forwarded to me by people I trust, people that would have no reason to lie or make up something like this.

This is the only abortion mill open locally and many great things have been happening here although there are still over 3000 abortions performed here a year.
As we were praying the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy with Fr. West yesterday, we noticed that there was an almost perfect cross in the sky, apparently from a jet, right above the abortion center.
In addition, two mothers chose life for their unborn children yesterday. Thank you Mother Mary for this special grace. Our Lady of Czestochowa pray for us.
Since I seem to be working my life away right now, my Lenten thoughts sometimes cross over between my work and home/personal life.
Such was the case today when I was thinking about how crazy busy were are at work and all the wasted resources that we are using because of being so busy. We would not functioning and following correct procedures as we normally would. We are doing what we have to, right or wrong, to make sure our orders get out to the customers. We are trying to clean up “messes” after the fact. Sometimes, we just have to write off things as a loss…..”haste makes waste” as the saying goes and I’m a firm believer in that.
Our Lenten season can be like that also. In our busy ordinary times of the year, we may sacrifice whatever we need, in order to get the kids to their ball games, dance recitals, teen activities, ect.
We may spend money we don’t really have to buy the latest and greatest gadgets; to replace furniture, applicances or even a car that we could probably live with for a while longer.
We spend more time and energy (and sometimes money), than we have.
But, do we make the same kind of sacrifices to go to confession or make it to Mass on time?
During Lent, it seems like we strive harder to go to daily Mass or at least a morning Mass on Saturday. We might pray at the abortion clinic or work in the food kitchen to feed the poor. We give up sweets, miss a meal or not eat out for dinner. We live our lives on the bare minimum.
Jesus and the Apostles lived on the “bare minimum” throughout their journeys. The disciples were sent to preach the Gospel they were told to “Take nothing for the journey,* neither walking stick, nor sack, nor food, nor money, and let no one take a second tunic. Living to spread the Gospel and help others in their needs.
If we ran our lives, our families, our businesses, our Government, our spiritual and moral lives, like our Lenten season; on the bare minimum, watching every little detail of our lives, I think everyone could live more fulfilling lives. 40 Days for Life Campaign.http://www.40daysforlife.com/
There are many reasons to participate, but some people find so many excuses not to.
It may take you out of your comfort zone; it may be raining, snowing or just plain freezing cold on your day.You may be scorned, ridiculed or (one of the most popular that I have seen), shown that you are
#1 in peoples book.

But, to put the truth in perspective, you are trying to save babies lives and help a mother not to ruin her life. She is a mother already if she is trying to get an abortion. The baby is a baby already if the mother is trying to get an abortion.
You are doing Gods work by trying to share the Gospel of life.

If those aren't enough reasons, here are some more concerning the mother that gets an abortion;
I think we can all look back on a sin we have committed and relate to this. The sin doesn’t even have to be a mortal sin; even venial sins fall into this arrangement.
Thanks to, Servant of God, Fulton J. Sheen for this;

Eve looks at the forbidden fruit; it is beautiful to behold. More and more she turns herself from the voice and thought of God to the fragrancy and imagined sweetness of the forbidden fruit. The lingering thought passes into a vivid imagination, the vivid imagination into a burning wish, the burning wish into a half-formed purpose, the half-formed purpose into a hasty act. Swiftly the crisis is upon her, as all such crises are, and the deed was done irrevocably until time shall be no more.

I bet if we could conform our wills to God’s will, and follow the same process (of course replacing the sin part with virtue) we can beat sin every time.
I am thinking it would look something like this;

Eve looks at the forbidden fruit; it is beautiful to behold. More and more she turns herself to the voice and thought of God from the fragrancy and God given sweetness of the forbidden fruit. The lingering thought passes from a vivid imagination, the vivid imagination into an offering up to God, the burning wish into a prayer for strength, prayer for strength, into a moment of prayer of thanksgiving for the Lords help in turning from the temptation. Swiftly the crisis is adverted and the deed was not done.

….what a wonderful world it would be…. Of course, they have their liberal spin on things.

Well, a situation in our neck of the woods caught my eye in the local news: http://www.wave3.com/story/22869380/jcps-teacher-among-6-charged-for-sexual-encounters-in-parks

First the rest area's weren't safe, now the local parks. We already know the public schools aren't safe.

We are told that homosexuality is not harmful to society, but those of us who are not blinded by media bias know better.

Since I like to use the media against itself, I am glad that they printed this comment for an officer involved.
"Families, children, people that were seeing these events and they contacted us directly," said Officer Jim Schreck of Indiana DNR."

So, if homosexuality is so acceptable to lawmakers, why is there public outcry when things like this happen? I'm sure there would be a public outcry against a married man and woman if they were being lewd in public, but I'm not seeing those stories on the news. My point is, immorality shouldn't be acceptable anywhere; but I am predicting that as homosexuality and other disordered preferences in human behavior are being accepted as "the norm", there will be a concern and rise in crime among the general public. It continues to prove my point that Christians are not the "crazy, violent, intolerant" homophobes that the media would portray. We have faith, we have reason, we have the truth. Society will continue to follow the lies of the media unless we Christians step out of our comfort zone and engage them with the message of Jesus Christ.StJosephwannabehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01147513865247199167noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758831117878886856.post-67234574329748441452013-07-26T11:41:00.002-07:002013-07-26T11:44:45.713-07:00GO POPE FRANCIS, YOU REBEL!While looking at the local news stories online to see what rubbish was being tossed to the public currently, I came across this headline;

“Rebel pope urges Catholics to shake up dioceses”

So, of course being curious (and a glutton for punishment), I went ahead and read the article.
WHAT made Pope Francis so radical?
Well evidently he…
“urged young Catholics to shake up the church and make a "mess" in their dioceses by going out into the streets to spread the faith. “

OH MY GOODNESS, NOT THAT!!!

Anarchy is right around the corner.
We can’t have Catholics (especially young Catholics) spreading the faith.
What is this world coming to?

Sarcasm aside, this was an awesome message that of course the media tried to do their normal “spin” on; but I think it flopped…IMO.

The article went on to state “Francis was elected pope on a mandate to reform the church”.
REALLY? Hmmmm

What they presenting is a false hope for cafeteria Catholics and Church “reformers”; those who want more married priests and women priests and whatever else ticks them off about Catholic Church teachings they don’t agree with.

Didn’t they see what happened the last time they “hoped” for “change”?
I think this hope and change is also going to be not what they wanted…but I think it will be what they need.

Pope Francis is continuing on with PJP II’s call for a new evangelization and Benedict XVI’s call for charity, making the way for the re-Christianization for our lost brothers and sisters in the world.

Faith, hope and love in Jesus is the message the world needs to hear.
Truth. Charity and love of our neighbor is going to bring the peace the world needs.

I think that is what Pope Francis is wanting his flock to be.

StJosephwannabehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01147513865247199167noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758831117878886856.post-39751864127553614072013-06-17T06:04:00.000-07:002013-06-17T06:04:13.729-07:00The Catholic Church knows bestNathan said to David:

“Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘I anointed you king of Israel.
I rescued you from the hand of Saul.
I gave you your lord’s house and your lord’s wives for your own.
I gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. And if this were not enough, I could count up for you still more.
Why have you spurned the Lord and done evil in his sight?
You have cut down Uriah the Hittite with the sword; you took his wife as your own, and him you killed with the sword of the Ammonites.
Now, therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah to be your wife.’
Then David said to Nathan,
“I have sinned against the LORD.”
Nathan answered David:
“The LORD on his part has forgiven your sin: you shall not die.”

Once again, the Catholic Church knows best.
In this past Sunday readings, we have yet another example of a Catholic sacrament: Penance or Confession. A sacrament that many Catholics are not using often enough....

Even though Nathan has to "prompt" David into making the confession, King David does confess his sin, and seems truely repentant.
Then the Lord gives him absolution through the ministry of Nathan.
Of course King David's "penance" is a lot harsher than anything we will probably experience, but, the Lord brought him through it and now King David is (I believe) basking in the glory of God for eternity.

May the Lord bring us all to confession regularly so that he may make us all saints and one day bask in the great glory of God!StJosephwannabehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01147513865247199167noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758831117878886856.post-131168162732311762013-05-09T05:57:00.002-07:002013-05-09T05:57:56.882-07:002013 Kentucky Catholic Homeschool Conference It's that time of the year again!!!!

“Take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them;otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.----Matthew 6;1

While today's readings for the Mass focus on our sinfulness and our need for our Saviour Jesus Christ, something else caught my eye. I noticed that today's Gospel reading is a great apologetic for the "faith vs. works" debate. Of course as Catholics, we believe that we need both, that they are one in the same. We don't separate them as the Protestants do. Just the first line of the chapter states that "you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father" if we do not do righteous deeds (good works) for the right reason; for the love of God and neighbor. That tells me that there is some kind of recompense (reward) for good works.

That doesn't mean that we can "work our way into Heaven" as our misguided Protestant friends accuse us of, but it does give more evidence that we must have both to live out the Christian faith in it's fullness as the Catholic Church teaches.
The sad part is, he doesn’t believe, at least in his actions, neither one of them.
America will reap what he sows.
Police: Man used scissors as weapon

Look out!

Start hording your scissors because the government is coming after them!!!!

OK, this may be silly and I do not wish to make light of the recent shooting tragedies in our country. My heart goes out to all those who suffered loss especially of their children.

As a father of 5 (soon to be 6), I can assure you that I would be the first outraged and possibly the saddest of all if anything happened to one of my children. I can’t imagine…….

But, when our elected officials make a “knee-jerk” reaction as they are making, American’s need to step back from the media frenzy and use common sense. There is real proof that gun control is not the answer.

There is real proof that maximum penalties for gun use in crimes is a great deterrent.
Guns aren’t’ the only weapons out there. Just look at what happened in 2001. AIRPLANES were used to kill about 3000 people.

Did the government outlaw airplanes? NO!!!!
That would be crazy!

They tightened the security and started paying attention to the safety of the passengers.

What has our President done to thwart future attacks on the public especially our schools and daycares, our malls and sports arena’s?

What has our states done on the local levels?

Are our schools any safer now than they were before the shootings in Sandy Hook?

I believe that is where we should be focusing our attention, not in stomping on our Constitutional rights.

I am not a gun owner (yet) although I am feeling like I may have to become one thanks to our government. I know many other people like myself that were not gun owners before the “knee-jerks” in Washington, but now they are.

So our government officials think this was a good idea?

Extremism is not what this country was founded on. We have truly lost our way.

We have taken God out of our schools, our politics and even some out of their religion, but when something goes wrong where do people go to find help, to find peace?

Back to God.

Why do we need in-private browsing?
“InPrivate Browsing enables you to surf the web without leaving a trail in Internet Explorer. This helps prevent anyone else who might be using your computer from seeing where you visited and what you looked at on the web.” (from Microsoft.com)

Until the other day when I was looking up how to disable it on our computer, I was thinking that the only reasons to use it were;
1) Porn
2) Getting your spouse a secret gift.

As I investigated disabling this feature (which is on most newer browsers including IE8 and Firefox), there was a mention of not being able to have your personal information left on public computers.

Fair enough, but really, is it worth it to open the door of pornography or anything else that our children shouldn’t be exposed to for the sake of convenience or privacy?
Privacy is very important for your personal information so why would you go on a public computer and take the risk?
If someone wants your information bad enough, they will get it anyway.

Why can’t the web designers come up with programs that make our children (or personal information) safer on the internet instead of continuing to put these temptations in front of them (us)?

We adults on the other hand have the duty to make sure that our children are safe and that we ourselves don’t use new technology for evil either.

My word of advice is to find out how to permanently delete this feature off your computer before temptation comes knocking on your web browser.

I have found that all browsers having this feature have an easy way to turn it off, but your computer savvy teen will find that fix in no time.
Permanently disabling this feature is the challenge. Some ways are easier than others. Do a good and exhaustive search before attempting any of it though.
I just read that IE8 will disable this feature if the parental controls are set correctly but I have not tested that theory yet.

Another piece of good advice that I heard in a talk the other day is;

“Never go to the store, watch tv or surf the net without a specific goal in mind”.

I think the old saying “idle hands is the devils workshop” is the thought on this advice.
